Advanced College

International Students

The founders of Advanced College have more than 40 years of experience in teaching at the college and university levels and working with international students. The instructors are highly qualified, holding Bachelors, Masters, and/or Doctorate degrees, & Multilingual (Arabic, Farsi, Spanish and Tagalog) and minimum of 5-10 years teaching experience.

Advanced College is located in the heart of beautiful Southern California, a short drive from downtown Los Angeles, Disneyland, Beverly Hills and Magic Mountain. Our Northern California Campuses are located closer to California travel spots such as Six Flags, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Yosemite National Park, Lodi Wine Country, and California’s Capitol City Sacramento. 

Advanced College’s International Student Office provides personal help with immigration procedures, housing information, orientation to college life and adjusting to educational practices and life in the United States. Many of Advanced College’s international representatives’ travel abroad to meet prospective students.
International students may enroll in any of the programs (ESL, Certificate or Associate Degree) of study at Advanced College. Associate degree programs consist of 63-66 semester hours (almost 2 year program).International students are not eligible to participate in any hybrid and/or distance education methods of instructional delivery.
Graduation from secondary school or its equivalent and proof of English knowledge are basic requirements for admission to an Advanced College program (except ESL). Students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. The Committee on International Admissions notifies applicants of a decision as soon as all credentials have been received. International students applying for admission should submit the International Student Application Form; a non-refundable $100 application fee; $300 tuition deposit; a certified official transcript (in English) of previously completed education; and Certification of Support and Finances. The student should likewise pass the English proficiency requirements.

To apply for a SEVIS I-20 (which is needed to obtain an F-1 or M-1 Student Visa), students must satisfy to the College, based on visa regulations, that sufficient financial support are available to pay for tuition and living expenses. This can be verified by a certified bank statement showing $28,000-$30,000 account balance of your sponsor. Once accepted to College, the SEVIS I-20 is sent with the Acceptance Package.
Advanced College offers an English as a Second Language (ESL). Students who wish to enter one of Advanced College programs and do not have the required TOEFL score can apply for both ESL classes and admission to Advanced College at the same time using the International Student Application Form. If all requirements are met, conditional acceptance into the academic program is granted based on successful completion of the ESL program. Students without a TOEFL score may be accepted to Advanced College if they have successfully completed ESL program.

AC will admit students regardless of race, age, sex, religious creed, ancestry, color, national origin, disability, medical condition, marital status, sexual orientation, or status as Vietnam era veteran. Students should demonstrate maturity and motivation toward undertaking an intensive course of study. Additionally, students must demonstrate an ability to advance from the program as determined by the successful completion of an aptitude test.
In order to apply to for a program at Advanced College, student has to mail the following items to the school: A completed International Student Application

  • US $100 nonrefundable application fee (payable to Advanced College).
  • Official copies (in English) of all transcripts from all secondary schools, colleges, or universities that you have attended. Each copy must bear the original stamp or seal of the school and signature of a school official attesting that it is a true copy of the original document. Faxes or unofficial photocopies of academic records will not be accepted. Transcripts from Canadian or American school must be sent to Advanced College directly from the school. All transcripts that you submit become the property of Advanced College.
  • $300 tuition deposit (refundable in case of cancellation).
  • Proof of financial responsibility.
