Degree Program

This program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and experience to perform effective Surgical Technology in the current market. This includes assisting in operations under surgeons’ supervision, preparing and transporting patients to surgery, and passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon.

Program Outcomes

  • Demonstrate proper communication skills in the operating room through written and oral methods.
  • Adopt and apply critical thinking skills to determine necessary equipment for various surgical procedures.
  • Demonstrate the first scrub and circulator role on all basic general and specialty surgical cases.
  • Demonstrate application of principles of asepsis to provide maximum patient safety in the operating room.
  • Demonstrate the concept of surgical conscience in all facets of the profession.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of global patient care by observing the surgical environment and other members involved.
